The cost of living just keeps rising. Petrol prices rose 30% in 2006, and childcare fees increased by $100 a month. Mortgage repayments on the average loan have increased by more than $105 a month since the last election. Last week the statisticians caught up with what we’ve all known for a long time: average weekly earnings for full time employees are failing to keep up with the cost of living.
